Mountain Perspectives

I've been thinking about perspective in writing a lot lately. Today I had this perspective on life.

I had a 40 mile bike ride to get home. Half of that was in the rain. I've always hated riding in the rain. By the time I got home my hands were so cold they did not want to move and I was pretty soaked. But as I rode I was aware that I was not the highest thing at 14000 feet of elevation with hail pelting me and lightning making my hair stand on end. Recognizing that allowed me to relax and enjoy both the sound the rain made on my helmet and the feeling of pushing my body to create heat. I love the perspective I got from a scary mountain storm.
