I am a reader, I love words and stories, but am not a writer. Yet I have been thinking about taking some of the many words I have written in journals since I moved to Vermont in 1973 after graduating from college in Boston and tell my story.

The constants in my life have been my nursing profession, my marriage of 49 years, my children, my large extended family and a wonderful community. Over the years I have added on other passions that have stayed with me, piano, backcountry skiing in the Tetons, tennis, mountain biking, and travel.

As I read back on the many journals I have kept since I was twenty-three and beginning a new life in Vermont I thought it was time to see if these writings help me understand the older person I am today.
