THE ADVENTURES OF MIMI LA FOURMI
By Constance Lindgreen
Illustrations by Susan Longmire
Mimi la Fourmi, a curious little French ant, is swept away and carried off—all the way to Denmark! Will the Danish ants she meets welcome her? What's it like to live in a place where the language and customs are so different? And most importantly, how will she get home before winter comes? With help from Holger Myre, a clever Danish ant, and Gregory Gray, a debonair, world-traveling goose, Mimi finds both a solution to her journey home—and lasting friendship. The Adventures of Mimi la Fourmi is a richly illustrated tale that blends humor, culture, and imagination. It celebrates resilience, friendship, and the joy of discovering new places, whether you walk on six legs or soar through the sky.
Constance Lindgreen has won several prizes in the US and France for her fiction, including a special mention in the Pushcart Prize XLIII. Thanks to friends from around the world, she has published her first children’s book, The Adventures of Mimi la Fourmi, in ten languages. Her current projects include a novel set in 1850s Denmark, a set of memoirs from 19th century Ohio, a novella set in Japan, and a collection of short stories.
